Existing Magazine Research

Features of the cover:
-Title- this needs to be larger than all of the other text
-Main Image- A shot from a performance of Eminem's
-Colour scheme- Keeps to the strict red, black and white colour scheme, and the yellow logo is from another company.
-Barcode, price, date, selling line (line under title) these are all common conventions of a magazine front cover.




Features of the contents page:
-Main image
-Band Index
-Sectioning for the content itself
-Subscription information
-Page title "NME THIS WEEK"




Features of the double page spread:
-Main title- quote from the interview
-Image of artist
-Drop cap on main body of text
-Columns of text

Introduction

For my AS Media coursework I am going to produce the front cover, double page spread and contents page for a music magazine. I will blog about the production and development of the products and research I complete prior to this.

I will look at already existing products to help me decide on such aspects as;
- Genre
- Target Audience
- Image
- Font
- Colour schemes
- And layout.

This research will then help me to push my product to be the most successful and professional it can be.
